-- Automatic Live Update is on, but pulse updates are off -- My version is 220.127.116.11 Is this a known bug or...? Hello, I have noticed something rather peculiar: Live Update no longer checks for updates every hour like it is supposedly should.
I have one user on the network I am running whose Virus Definition File date will not update.
PC is successful in running Liveupdate scan manually and weekly as scheduled. "That's not thunder, I just kick hard." Jun Jun BK hey guys i have the same problem: when updates the virus definition files everything seems completely normal.
You should also back up the Windows registry (see Windows - Backing up the Registry) before attempting any changes.
Symantec/Norton should look into it as the version I got on 8th (both) are never even mentioned on the site in the release history : https:// In our PCs here we have 2 folders in IPSDefs, viz., 20170408.002 & 20170408.004 and the site shows as : 12/4/17 Security Update 1791 20170411.001 11/4/17 Security Update 1790 20170410.001 8/4/17 Security Update 1789 20170408.001 7/4/17 Security Update 1788 20170407.001 I am seeing the same on NSBU. I remember seeing a Norton site with all the definitions and they would start every day with .001 and each update changed the last digits for that day.
They would not release each update but would test them and eventually pick the one to release.
Stop the symantec antivirus services Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Edition.5\ (this is for the version I am using 10.1.5)Delete all the folders and files within it.
Restart the servicerun live should update successfully now.
